midnight crafting

So, my strategy for preparing for this craft fair is to leave everything to the last minute.  Last year I was crafting way in advance (meaning I started probably a month before).  It made it feel like I was preparing for forever and then last year, there were not very many people that came.  With the unpredictability of volume at a vendor fair, I figured it probably made more sense to not waste time preparing too early because I could better use that time sleeping or preparing for workshops or hanging out with the family.  I conciously accepted and decided that I would prefer staying up all night the day before rather than dragging it out for months ahead of time.


So, here I am at midnight getting all ready.  Really, I'm not as behind as I thought I would be. (which is why I"m taking a break blogging) I've got everything set for the things I"m selling at the table.  What I"m working on now is these little presentations I'm supposed to give during the day.  The organizer asked if I would do a couple of little stage presentations throughout the day.  I said "no problem" because that's the part I feel most comfortable with.  I can demonstrate cute little stamping tricks anytime.  Here's a little gift idea I'm going to show: stamping on a glass ornament.

This is the beginning prototype for my gift box class on December 5th.  I'm sure the final design will be even better!  Sign up and make your own handstamped ornament and decorated box. 

Okay, back to work for me!  Hubby taunted that he had finished reading his report cards and was going to bed.  I think I'll be done soon and can get some shut eye myself!

Snowman Kisses

I'm getting ready for a craft fair tommorrow.  Make sure you stop by and visit me.  It's a fundraiser fair for the Stouffville Igoma Partnership.  It is being held at Eastridge Church.  12485 Tenth Line, Stouffville, Ontario

I'm keeping it really simple this year.  I've got some new retired Stampin' Up! merchandise and some little goodies like these reindeer poop and snowman kisses.  The rhyme on the back of the snowman kisses says:

He's cute, he's cuddly and full of warm wishes.  Here's some heartfelt SNOWMAN KISSES!

I'm looking forward to a day of checking out the other vendor tables and meeting some new people. 

A reindeer punch!

Just thought I'd share some pictures of what I was working on today.  The cute two step owl punch helped me create reindeer.  I am getting ready for a craft fair on Saturday.  I figured I would make some cute little eye catching treats.  I am going to put these reindeer head as a topper on the small, narrow cellophane bags and fill them with jelly beans. In case you're wondering, the antlers are from the snowflake punch. 

 The two step owl punch is so versatile.  If you don't own it, you should!  It can also become penguins!  Here's a card swap I received from my roommate Erin at Convention.

Craft Show Experience

So, I've now had my first Craft Show Vendor experience. It's been something I've been wanting to try for a while but wasn't sure if it was worth the time and money investment. However, I know a lot of Stampin' Up! demonstrators do craft shows regularly but it's not something that I had ever tried. Here's the picture of our booth just before the doors opened. I think our set-up looked great and very professional. Thank you to Mai for the very functional foam board stands!

Here's the pictures of me and my craft show partner Susan. Susan was amazing about producing a huge number of beautiful cards for the craft show. We had cards, card folders, card purses, chocolate, stamped domino magnets, lollipops and magic reindeer food. Our biggest seller?

Reindeer Poop.

These chocolate covered raisins bagged with reindeer decorated toppers, were the hit. Don't you love how the circle punches and snowflake punch create rudolf's features? The saying on the back says:

I hear you've been naughty, so listen...here's the scoop

Instead of getting coal this year, you're getting reindeer poop!

Unfortunately, there were not a lot of people that came through the doors to take in the craft show so we have a lot of unsold items. Fortunately, our church is having a fundraiser sale next week so I am able to donate my remaining items to this sale. Well, not the Christmas cards since Susan is actually secretly pleased that she doesn't have to make Christmas cards for two years now!

Gag gift

Here's a cute stocking stuffer gag gift that will be on my craft show table. It's magic reindeer food. The rhyme says:

Just sprinkle on the lawn at night

The moon will make it sparkle bright

As Santa's reindeer fly and roam,

This treat will guide them to your home.

It was so easy to make with the big shot top note die and the cute deer friends stamp.

I filled the cellophane bag with oatmeal and sparkly green cupcake sprinkles. Completely edible in case some child decides to be a reindeer.
