stampin4fun: Camping Part 2

For those of you who are following my escapades with the summer of camping, I thought I'd share some thoughts from #kocamping Part 2 (Feel free to read about camping part 1 HERE)

Our second camping experience this summer was at a small provincial park near Orillia, at the top of Lake Simcoe called "Mara" provincial park

I have to say that from my perspective, it was a more enjoyable experience. First of all there were no torrential rain storms and second of all my mindset had changed a bit and I was determined to just try to be grateful for the change of scene and time with my family.

For some reason when we took photos this time, we tried to take a "normal" photo and a "crazy face" photo. Even though there were only four of us, we couldn't seem to get our crazy faces in sync!

I have to say I am seriously glad to be doing this summer of camping when my kids are older. They are happy to help and Michelle takes so much initiative with all the camping tasks. Even though she's the one that swells up like a whale with mosquito bites, she really enjoys being outdoors and enjoys camping (she must get that from Kevin)

As a result, I don't have to get stressed about the setting up or taking down of camp because I don't know what I'm doing but Nathaniel and I try to help where we can and Kevin and Michelle do the brunt of it.

Cooking and washing dishes was a breeze too with so many helping hands (Do you like my Stampin' Up! camping mug?)

In my opinion the beach was much nicer at Mara. The kids had fun in the water and I just hung on in the sun and read my book.

So camping part 2 was a success. There were waaaay more mosquitos this time but we survived.

Camping part 3 starts today. We are heading to Rideau River Provincial Park. I can't wait for this one for the sole reason that it's close to Ottawa and this means there will be a very good chance that I will see my first born who is doing his coop term in Ottawa. This mama heart will be very happy to have the whole family together...even if it means I'm sleeping in a tent!
