Just thought I'd share some pictures from our recent team get together.  Love these make n takes!
The card below and on the right uses the new everything eleanor set and the new serene silhouettes.  The colours are River Rock and Midnight Muse.  The card on the left uses the brights dsp and the circles come from the mixed bunch set.

The next two cards are so easy to make but so beautiful. The card on the left uses the simply scoring tool to create dry embossed lines which frame a little strip of the gorgeous floral district dsp.  The card on the right uses the cute hostess set Four Seasons.

A technique sneak peek

My technique class is fast approaching on Monday July 9th.  Masking is the technique theme for the month.  Here's a sneak peek of a couple of cards we will be making.  I had so much fun preparing these cards because it was fun to do that little bit extra to make the cards special.  I still have more masking card ideas so hopefully I will have more time to play stamps.  I'm out of town relaxing with the kids at our time share this week but there's always the weekend!

How to make your Stampin' Up! clear mount stamps stay on the block!

So, it's no secret that I prefer Stampin' Up's wood mount stamps.  I'm just old fashioned and when I get used to something, it's hard to change.  My biggest concern with the clear mount stamps is that they seemed to keep falling off the block at inopportune times.  I finally discovered that if I don't put the sticker image on the back, the stamp sticks marvelously onto the block.  Yahoo!  When I discovered this, I started being more open to purchasing clear mount.  The price is right thats for sure!  The problem is, when I'm doing classes, sometimes people don't check and accidentally stamp the image upside down because there is no picture on the back.

When I was in Disney I was talking to my new friend Sandy about my clear mount woes and she taught me this trick.  I have a new respect for clear mount now!

This is what you do: 

Once you have removed the backing from the rubber, go to the sticker sheet.  It looks like this:

Normally you would peel the backing off and stick it to the stamp but what Sandy told me to do is to cut the sticker out by trimming very very close to the image like this:

So when you cut out the sticker so close to the image, you can then stick it onto the back side of the stamp but it still leaves an outline that sticks well to the block.

Then peel off the paper backing so you can see the sticker image.

Since I have started doing this, I haven't had to stick snail on the back of my stamps anymore.  Give it a try and let me know what you think!

beautiful gift ideas

Just wanted to share some of the fun and beautiful crafts we did at my Kids Can Craft class last night.  The idea was to make crafts that would work as gifts for teachers since the end of the school year is coming up fast.  As usual, the class was a blast.  Kids bring such enthusiasm and energy.

I case'd this idea from my friend Nancy Williams a demo in the U.S.  She gave it as a gift to me when she saw me at convention last year.  I saved it because I knew it would be a perfect class project.  Although it had several parts to it, the kids did a great job!  Here's the outside:

We also made coasters using some simple tiles and the summer smooches dsp (which is available for purchase again on June 1st!)  Of course we packaged them up real cute using the large cellophane bags and some ribbon.  The stamp from the creatively yours set finished it off!  This is a picture of my daughters creation.

These projects are not just for classes in my home!  You can host your own mommy and me class or an adults only girls night out class and I will bring the supplies and the projects to you!  Wouldn't you and your friends love to make these projects too?  Make sure to e-mail me to set a date!
