I'm Home, I'm Home

Sorry this is the first time I'm posting this week! I've been having A LOT of trouble adjusting back to life here! My sleep is okay but sometimes it's a bit disrupted because I'm sure I'm dreaming in French and even in my dreams talking French takes a bit of extra effort.  LOL

I keep thinking that I'll just jump back into the craft cave and get to work because I've got lots of planning, designing and cutting to do but somehow it's not going as smoothly as I hoped.

Monday morning was spent just trying to reorganize my craft cave and then my youngest asked if I could join him and Kevin when they went bowling.  Of course I went...

The next day was my oldest's birthday so we went out for dinner.  I can't believe I have a child that is 21 years old!

This morning I was full of determination but the power went out and then I was all out of sorts since there's not much natural light in the basement.

Thankfully the power is back so I thought I would write a blog post just sharing about the last week of my Quebec experience (which includes a cute project too!)

The final week was busy with more sightseeing, poutine eating and taking photos as souvenirs of my time in Chicoutimi. It really was a special experience!

I learned about a theater show at a neighboring town (La Baie) and the show basically detailed the history of the region. My Chicoutimi mom Chantal was kind enough to drive us there and back and she even suggested we go early to eat the Poutine. (because, once again, this is the place with the best poutine.  How many places are allowed to boast having the best poutine?)

In the end, this poutine really was the best in my opinion!

We enjoyed the scenic views before the show.

The show was really more impressive than I expected! The special effects were really great!

The next day we went on an outing to enjoy eating and sitting by the lake.
(Yes! more poutine)

Great to spend time with Chantal's friends and speak French with the locals!

The final week of school was bittersweet.  I kept busy studying, going to class, and connecting with classmates.

Everything I did I kept thinking..."this is the last time..."
I had to take a photo with my favourite bus driver.
He was my favourite because he was always smiling.

Our class photo: Yay class 2A

I had to visit the extraordinary Chocolats Favoris ice cream shop again.

Watermelon ice cream dipped in chocolate this time!

The night before the last day I suddenly had the urge to make something for all the students in my class.
I found these cute little candies that were made in the region and created a little tag.
Considering my limited stamping supplies I was very happy with what I created!
I just wanted my classmates to know that I was happy to have met them!

I had to use the Hippest Hippo stamp set because it was so stinkin cute! (supply list below...last few weeks to get this stamp set free while supplies last!)

After the final exam I felt light and free! I did it!
We had a celebratory style lunch outside where a local musician played the guitar and sang traditional Quebecois songs.
I said farewell to these young kids in my class excited for their future ahead of them!

I played hooky from the final afternoon event and instead went to a local park and enjoyed quiet time in God's great creation.  There was a beautiful waterfall and the sun was shining and it was a perfect way to spend my last day.

I got teary eyed saying good bye to my Chicoutimi mom Chantal.  She definitely made an impact on me and I know we'll stay in touch.

I also had to say goodbye to my roommate Fabienne.

It was all so sentimental but I knew I had to get back to reality!

The good thing about my life is that reality looks like this!

I had to get ready for a private card class where the requested theme was Gnomes!

I whipped up four card designs and now am packing to ship them so they arrive in time for the zoom card party! It will be fun!
