Just a little getaway

Just thought I would share a few photos from my little getaway last weekend.  If you are on my email newsletter list you would have seen that hubby and I decided to go for a one night getaway to a hotel in downtown Markham.  (yes, it's about 15 minutes from where I live).

We've had so many cancelled vacations because of COVID we decided to just keep it simple because maybe the destination isn't as important as just spending some time together relaxing.

Despite this pandemic dragging painfully on, I refuse to stop living!
I just have to find ways to do things differently.

The hotel was pretty empty...

We checked in and then when straight out to lunch.  Main St. unionville still had patios open and although it was cold the sun was shining so we enjoyed lunch together outside.  Yes I"m wearing my winter jacket.  It was pretty cold.  It's probably the first time I have eaten on a patio on Halloween!

We then took a walk along main street and in the forested trails behind main street. There were a couple of houses that were really decorated for halloween so it was like a tourist attraction with everyone taking photos!

Our fancy Marriott hotel.  It wasn't really fancy but since we haven't gone to a hotel it so long it seemed fancy to us.

Dinner!

Dessert!! (You can see I was already all cozy in my PJ's)
We took out from a dessert place near the hotel.  Huge cheesecake and icecream!
We knew we could have shared one dessert but we justified ordering two since we had a coupon and figured this was our contribution in supporting the economy during such difficult times.  😂😂

No photos of Kevin and I binge watching netflix.

The hotel was so empty they gladly gave us a super late check out time so we were able to join in for online church and participated in communion using our leftover crackers and grape pop.

Another take out meal from a nearby eatery and more netflix. to wrap up our little getaway.
And that, my friends is how to do a socially safe vacation during a pandemic.
Tune in next time when I'll be sharing what a Stampin' Up! annual convention looks like during a pandemic!!!

Thanks for dropping in!
