The word “occupational” in occupational therapy can be misleading. This profession is not about vocational counseling or work training. Occupational therapists are health care professionals who help people to resume or maintain participation in a variety of tasks – their jobs, leisure and social activities, getting around, caring for themselves and their home, and much more.
I think my OT background made it really easy for me to see the value of stamping and crafting. This hobby does so much! It is a meaningful leisure activity because
1. you create beautiful items that can be given to bless others,
2. It can be done in a social setting to foster community and healthy relationships
3. It can build self esteem. I know sometimes I feel like the queen of the world when I've made a pretty card!
4. It's also great for fine motor skills and eye hand coordination.
It's funny...even though it's so obvious to me that stamping is valuable and a great hobby to promote personal development, there are people who I can tell really want to stamp more but feel they just shouldn't indulge themselves.
I think taking time for meaningful leisure activities like stamping is an essential act of self-care!
To encourage your self care, I have some upcoming events which I think lend themselves very well to mental health wellness. All stamping is good therapy but there are a few of my upcoming events which I've highlighted as part of a Self-Care Series.
When you pay and register for at least 4 of the events in my Self-Care Series, you will receive a free exclusive host set of your choice PLUS a free fun mystery gift from me!
So, on that note, here is my line up of upcoming classes and events!
There's something for everyone in a variety of price ranges and you can enjoy many of these classes in person or Take it 2 go!
Anything with the astrix means it's part of my Self Care Series and helps you qualify for a free host set and gift!
