Cracked glass

Technique class each month is so fun because we do things that are a little different from the usual.  One of the techniques we covered in August was the Cracked Glass technique.
Check out the super unique element on the card we made.
It gives a vintage look to something that would otherwise be quite ordinary.  We used the Touches of Texture stamp set here.

I was actually so excited about the technique, I made an additional card to play with it a bit more using the Birthday Blooms stamp set and used Soft Sky cardstock.

Here's a close up of the "cracked"look here.

Here's the finished card.

Want to give it a try?
Here's what you do:  After stamping and colouring your piece of cardstock, rub the whole front of the cardstock in versamark ink pad.
Pour clear embossing powder on top.  Heat with the heat tool until the whole surface is shiny.
Repeat three more times.
Then place into the freezer for about 10 minutes.
Remove from freezer and immediately fold cardstock in different locations and you will see the clear enamel "crack".
Tip:  you must "crack" as soon as you remove it from the freezer.  Do not wait to take it down to your craft room.

That's it!  So easy!
Feel free to head to my online store to buy that clear embossing powder and heat tool that you need for this technique.

It was super fun to do together at technique class.  How often do we get to put our stamped creations in the freezer?
