A pretty gift box and a party

I wanted to drop in and share some photos and inspiration from our Team S.T.I.C. stampers holiday party!

Once again the party was a completely virtual affair over zoom.

Team members were invited to register for the party and I had fun designing a little gift to send.

I decided to use the Kraft gift boxes that came out in the holiday catalogue.

I know in the photo they look plain and ordinary but the point is that we can dress them up!
Here's how I dressed my box up! (I'll paste the supply list below)

I was able to slip inside the box a package of clear cellophane envelopes and a cheese dip.

I already knew I wanted to share a fun stamping technique at the holiday party and the clear envelopes were an essential part of the project!

There was a flurry of activity in the craft cave early December as I packed all the gifts (in purple envelopes of course since that's our team colour) and got them off to the post office.

Leading up to the holiday party we had a couple of fun and meaningful activities.
1) instead of our usual swap, I challenged team members to make at least 10 cards to donate to a local non profit organization of their choice and post pictures in our facebook group.

It was so great to see the variety of cards made and charities supported!

2) Secret sister gift card exchange. Any team member that wanted to participate could make a handmade gift card holder and include a $10 gift card and receive one in return.

The gift card holder I made was the one I demonstrated in a past Tuesday @ 2.  Check it out HERE

Here's the one I received from team sister Kelly Ludberg

It had a walmart gift card inside so I could go buy myself some chips and dip! Yah baby! 😍

On the night of the virtual team party we dressed in our holiday gear, ate snacks, played games and I shared a stamping demonstration.

I decided to make a frameless shaker card which I learned from Patty Bennett's video HERE

Of course I had to use new catalogue product because it's so exciting!

So that's the fun of our Team STIC stampers holiday party!

Some Holiday Fun

I know I mentioned I would share some of the photos from our first In person small group outing.
In case you missed the email where I shared, I had explained that Kevin and I have been participating in a new church small group.  It's a way for us to experience community, friendship and support within the larger church group. This group began/launched around September...during the pandemic so all our get togethers have been over zoom.

We decided to try a social activity which was a service activity to pack care bags for those in need, drop them off at church and then drive caravan style to Uxbridge to see a light display.

Earlier in the week, each family packed their bag with food, winter clothing etc in the safety of their home but we chatted over zoom while we did it.
Then on the Sunday evening, we met in the church parking lot and dropped off our care bags.  (Very convenient that one of our group members works at the church so she had a key)

We did a little socializing in the parking lot and took a group photo

Then off we drove to Uxbridge.

The drive to Uxbridge was hilarious.  Someone had the great idea to give walkie talkies to each car so we tried to chat and keep in touch while we were driving caravan style to Uxbridge.

Mostly it was a lot of static and saying phrases that made us sound like we knew how to communicate over walkie talkies and of course we gave each family car a code name so we could add to the fun.
Because our car was blue we decided we were "Blue Bison."
Our group members from New Zealand were the Kiwis...etc.
"Did we lose the Kiwis? Over and out"
"Blue Bison, here...trailing the caravan...over and out"

You get the idea.

The light show was very lovely and had small town charm.  I think it took about 20 minutes to drive the route.  We probably took far too many photos.

We met up in the Tim Hortons parking lot for some hot chocolate and more socializing and that was the end of our first Small group social.  I think it was a great success.

This past Tuesday was the annual Team STIC stampers holiday party.
Once again I had to be creative and think of how to transform our annual holiday potluck and festive fun onto an online platform.

I had team members register ahead of time so I knew how many were planning to join the zoom. Then I made up "party packs" that included a package of dimensionals, a recipie for a hot cheese dip, the spices needed for the aforementioned cheese dip, a soothing sheet mask package and a small piece of smoky slate cardstock
I wanted this party pack to be my small gift to the team members to thank them for their friendship and support.
The dimensionals were a little nod to our team name (STIC) since dimensionals are adhesive which are sticky...get it?!
I encouraged everyone to make a festive snack like the cheese dip and dress in festive attire and during the evening we stamped, played a new catalogue true/false game, listened to relaxing holiday music while I screen shared a soothing fire and some enjoyed the facial sheet mask while the music played.

I hope fun was had by all!  I suppose the fun carries on because I invited everyone to create something using the smoky slate piece in their party pack and I'll draw a winner from the creative ideas posted in our Team Facebook group.

So, there might be a pandemic going on but I am grateful there are still ways do experience some holiday socialization!

I hope you find ways to socialize safely this holiday season.  Thanks for dropping in!

Team STIC swaps

Happy Friday!  What a gorgeous day it is outside here!
Last night we had our Team STIC monthly celebration.  We don't get together in person anymore due to the pandemic but we still connected in the form of a facebook party in our team group.
We had a great stamping demonstration from a team member and we even had a special guest Dale Hampshire from the Canadian Stampin' Up! office join us via facebook live.
Who cares if it's a pandemic?  Stampers gotta stamp and stampers gotta connect!

Speaking of stamping, last month our team did a card swap so I thought I would share the cards here for your inspiration.

I'm sorry that the photos are not fantastic  When I took them it was more for my inspiration and to quickly show the rest of the team.  Hopefully you can still get some inspiration from the samples!  I forgot to mark down everyone's name with each card but I know they are all Team STIC girls.  Aren't they talented?

Swapping is just one of the fun experiences being part of the Team.  If you've been considering  joining the Stampin' Up! journey, now is a great time!

Stampin' Up! announced a special starter kit offer!
