Scrapbooking weekend

It was a scrapbook weekend for me. A whole weekend to catch up on my scrapbooking. I think I got something like 20 spreads done. Here's one (sans pictures of the kids) from the rainforest cafe. All my pages are always really simple. My goal is to get the pictures down and the memories journalled. Artistic merit is low on the list. That's why I love using co-ordinating paper. The Stampin' Up! dsp is perfect because of how easy everything co-ordinates.

My ah ha moment with clear mount stamps.

I am hoping the pictures here will convey a thousand words since I am really up too late and should go to bed. I just really wanted to share something I learned at Regionals that totally opened my eyes to the "coolness" of the clear mount stamp system. Yes, we all know I love wood mount but I might consider having a little affair with these clear mount stamps for just this purpose. Check out the pictures below and see what I have done that can not be done with wood.

See, three stamps on one block. I ink them and stamp once. (with wood, they'd all be on seperate blocks and I'd have to stamp three times)

Then, put the birds, uninked, rubber down in the positions I want them.

Then, I put the clear block on top of the birds and they stick to the block. I then ink up the rubber and stamp once and all the birds are in the right position in their cages.

Okay, maybe all of you have been doing this with your clear mounts all the time and this is old news but hey! it's new to me and now I might actually choose to buy clear mount more often...especially for two step sets.

Back to school

Here's the pencil holder I showed in an earlier post but embellished with the darling owl punch. This is the best punch because it's like getting seven punches for the price of one punch. The paper you need to make this pencil holder is 8.5X4.5. Score at 2" and 4" along the short side and score at 2" along the long side. Cut along the top middle score line but stop when you reach the other score line. This will be the flap that folds down. Snip off the small rectangle at the top. Fold and assemble with sticky strip. Don't forget the finishing touches of crimping the bottom and rounding the corners at the top.

Birthday Parties with Lil Explorers!

I am entering an exciting frontier...I will be doing craft birthday parties for children. These parties are all inclusive parties which include everything. Parents don't have to worry about anything except sending out invites and arriving at the party. More details will be coming but any queries or date bookings can be directed to Carina at Lil Explorers. Here's a couple of possible projects that the birthday child and guests will be making. ( I love the pencil holder. I think I might have to teach that for my next club meeting!) We just decided to go ahead with this amazing idea so it might be a bit premature to put it on my blog but I'm just so excited! There will be two choice options: one using the pawsitively prints dsp and sweet birthday stamp and the other will be using the celebrations dsp and For You Flower. Kids will go home with finished craft projects and lots of extra paper and the stamp. Stay tuned for further details.
