A Quick Gift Card Holder

I just came home from working at the home office in Utah. It was a great experience to actually be in meetings with the team face to face instead of on zoom.

I already knew Stampin' Up! was a remarkable company. (There's a reason I've stayed a demonstrator for over 15 years). Lots of people have been asking me what it's like to be "on the inside" as an employee.

Well...the company and the job is exactly how I imagined it to be. Absolutely no surprises.

The passion and enthusiasm and kindness of the staff is not just a front that they pull off just for Stampin' events. People are eager to help each other and there's such a great culture of affirmation, positive mindset and hard work. I feel very blessed to be a part of the team.

When I arrived back home I remembered I had to send out my Team STIC secret santa gift card exchange.

I love that we play and enjoy fun activities on the team!

Anyone on team STIC could participate and I think it will be fun to see all the different creations!

I grabbed some paper that I haven't yet played with but I LOVE.

It's the Celebrate everything 12X12 paper which is a host exclusive. You can nab it with your free host dollars that you earn from hosting or shopping when orders total $200 or more.

I grabbed the paper, did a quick pinterest search for inspiration and this is the gift card holder I created. The pocked is big enough to hold money or treats or maybe a small hot chocolate packet!

It's so easy to make!

I just cut the designer paper 5 1/2" X 12"

Scored at 4" either side on the long side

Grabbed a scrap strip of Granny Apple Green cardstock to create the belly band to keep it closed.

Then I Used the Handmade Wishes stamp set and coordinating punch to hide the belly band seam

I just cut off on a diagonal a piece of the DSP to create the pocket effect.

Ta Dah! So fast and easy! I hope my Team STIC secret sister loves her packaging for her gift card!

You Make the World a Better Place

One thing that has been a huge help to me during the pandemic is the support of my home church: Cornerstone Christian Community Church.

When everything suddenly shut down, our church quickly started providing Sunday services online. I know it took a lot of hours for staff and volunteers to create such a robust experience but every Sunday I reaped the benefits. Sunday morning church was always a highlight of my week before the pandemic and it's still a highlight of my week now.

I am so grateful for the effort that the staff members have put into everything. I know they have been working so hard out of love and service and I wanted to do something to bless them in return.

I figured a grocery gift card would be a simple and practical gift. Of course I had to make a holder for the gift card!

I thought the sentiment from the Beautiful World Stamp set was perfect! (supply list can be found at the end of the blog post)

Making your own gift card holder is easy!

Cardstock is 7 3/4" X 5"

In landscape orientation, make score lines at 2 1/2" and 6"

Fold on score lines, decorate with some designer series paper (4 3/4" X 2 1/4" and 4 3/4" X 1 1/2")

Punch a small notch using a 1 1/2" circle punch and then seal the side edges of the bottom flap.

Create a belly band with a 1" X 8 1/2" to wrap around and keep the holder closed.

Hope this inspires you to create a lovely hand made holder for any gift cards you will be giving this season.

Decorating the Rectangle tins with Curvy Christmas!

Happy Thursday friends! Did you catch the live video on my facebook page earlier this week?

I'm continuing with showing ways to use the Curvy Christmas stamp set!

Here's the project I shared this week! I enjoyed decorating our functional and sturdy Rectangle Tins

You get 4 in a package and they are perfect for tucking in little treats and gift cards. Talk about perfect stocking stuffers or neighbour gifts.

I used this months feature stamp set and the Tis the Season Designer Series Paper to create this: (full supply list at the end of the blog post)

The little brookside chocolates that I got from Costco were perfect to fit inside.
