A quick Disney getaway

Over the long weekend I headed off for a quick visit to Disney world.  Before the pandemic we used to go every year as a family.

I just wanted to see what a post pandemic disney was like.  Would our family still have A GOOD time?

I decided to do things differently.  Normally we stay at a more economy resort but I decided to splurge for a deluxe resort because I wanted to relax on this vacation.  I was going to sleep in, sit by the pool and maybe mosey on into the theme park in the evening and have a nice stroll

If you want to get a feel of how we USED to do Disney check out this old blog post:

So many things have changed.  There's no transportation from the airport to the resort.  There's no fast pass front of the line free service booking. What was also different is that all the kids couldn't come.  Somewhere in the four years of the pandemic my kids grew up.  The older two couldn't come because of work commitments so it was just Kevin, myself and our youngest who was now 16!

Normally he is overshadowed by his siblings so this was the perfect time to spend time with him and give him lots of attention.

We started off relaxing and eating and enjoying the resort on the first day we arrived

But the next day and the day after that and maybe the day after that were not very relaxing at all.
It doesn't mean we didn't have a good time.
It just means it seemed wrong to not put a very good effort into seeing all the new attractions that had sprung up in the years that we missed.
There was an amazing star wars themed world complete with an interactive experience where we had been captured by the evil First Order yet rescued by the resistance and lots of other things to see and do!

Even a pouring rain storm did not stop us from running to the next ride that we just had to experience.  Of course we carry rain ponchos in our backpack.

One fun and different part of this trip was that we met up with Meg Loven a fellow demonstrator and her husband and son.  It just happened that they were doing a trip to Disney as well.  I think they are even more disney fans than us!

Our sons met first on a Stampin' Up! trip so it was neat to see them together again and how they have changed.

It's so cool that my journey with Stampin' Up! has led me to some amazing friendships all around the world.

Just a few final photos since I like to make sure to have a meal with Disney Characters.

So what's the verdict from this Disney trip?

It's still fun

I don't have the same stamina to run from ride to ride as I did 4 years ago

I still have a desire to try a Disney trip where I lounge at the resort and enjoy the disney magic from a beach chair.

I loved the memories I made with my two boys!
