As promised I wanted to share a few more photos from my time in New Orleans.
The convention did NOT disappoint!
Great speakers, great friends, new friends, good food...what's not to love?
After the event there was a retreat for the Demonstrator Development Managers. It was perfect timing to connect with other team members since I was new to the team and the retreat allowed me to watch and listen and learn.
Enjoy the photos of the fun!
As a staff member I helped out with the check in process which was fun! I could tell everyone liked their bag and gifts!
I especially enjoyed serving this fine gentleman. :)
A huge part of the event is meeting people, networking and chatting!
It was great to see demonstrator friends that I've only met online or haven't seen in person for years!
I had to introduce a couple of my newest leader Team STIC girls to the co-founder Shelli Gardner!
The party atmosphere kicked off with a swap and sweets night
and lots of great decorations throughout the hotel!
All the workshops and speakers were great!
This is one of my favourite quotes from the event. I think it is so TRUE!
How often do we not seize an opportunity because it initially appears like too much work or too much effort or too ordinary?
I had a chance to have a nice dinner out with the Team STIC girls who attended the event.
It was interesting for me to enjoy both sides of the experience.
On the one hand I was a staff member and had access to the staff breakfasts and had to attend some meetings and help out where needed
(Aside: The staff breakfasts were amazing but I was warned that this was not the norm at events. It was apparently a fluke that the catering at the hotel was so exceptional. I think the staff didn't want me to expect this level at future events. LOL)
On the other hand, I was a demonstrator and had the opportunity to participate in some demonstrator experiences.
This was a special exclusive breakfast just for demonstrators titled at Platinum or Platinum Elite.
I think in the future I may not have the opportunity to attend these events because I'll likely have more responsibilities in my staff role so I definitely made sure to enjoy the experience this time.
I joined in one of the French speaking workshops and discovered that they really have a lot of fun!
Here they are dancing before the workshop began!
The final night party was epic!
There was decorations, food, dancing, entertainment and the streets were closed so we could have our own private Stampin' Up! parade!
How awesome was that?
I'm going to remember this leaders Backstage convention for a long time!
After the event, Kevin and I had a day to ourselves before he flew home and before the staff retreat began.
We had beignets at the Cafe Du Monde (continuing our beignet tasting tour) and just enjoyed walking around the city.
The staff retreat was great. I was a little timid at first but it wasn't long before I felt comfortable because everyone was so friendly and because I could tell we were all so passionate about our jobs and we all wanted to do whatever we could to support demonstrators.
I had brought some maple coated nuts as a Canadian treat and the other Demonstrator Development managers brought treats as well!
I know I'm new to the team but I can tell everyone is going to be GREAT to work with!
I'm back home now trying to get into a new routine.
The kids and Kevin will be heading back to school this week and we dropped off our oldest son to his residence this weekend. He'll be starting his fourth year of universtiy.
Wow. Time flies!
Thanks for dropping in!
Hope you had a great final days of summer too!
