Finally! A Ladies Retreat Weekend

I almost can't believe it happened!  An in person Ladies Retreat Weekend actually happened.  I can't remember how many times I've tried to reschedule or restart a Ladies Retreat weekend and it would get cancelled because of restrictions or because people were not comfortable gathering in person.

It was a few months ago when I thought I would try again.  At our Thanksgiving trailer camping experience at Fairhavens, I found out they had a large room and beds where I could hold a crafting retreat.  I reached out to a few Team STIC girls who had attended my past retreats and asked how they would feel about trying (again) for an in person retreat. I tried to keep it small because I honestly didn't know how I would feel about gathering.

Although I moved forward with some planning I think deep in my heart I didn't really believe it was going to happen.

It wasn't until last week when I really realized that "omigosh, this is going to happen! How am I going to make this work?"

We had 16 including myself in person at the location in Beaverton and 6 people who ordered the retreat in a box.

I had two zoom connection times so I could visit with the "in a box attendees"

Here's a few photos from the weekend.

I love to design and prepare little "pillow gift" treats for the ladies to enjoy all weekend. Here's a little sample of one of them.

They receive 6 pillow gifts plus a goodie bag plus 4 make n take projects throughout the weekend.

I was packing everything in boxes so I could easily transport it up to the retreat centre.

I loved our crafty room.  There were big windows on either side of the room and everyone got a huge table to craft on (one plus of social distancing!)

I went with a tropical theme and so all the gifts and goodie bag treats were tropical themed.

I was so blessed to have Team STIC girl Melissa with me as a helper.  We were full of anticipation once we set up the room and awaited the arrival of the ladies!

I think the new location worked out well.  The food was certainly abundant!

Wearing masks didn't stop us from crafting up a storm!

Lots  of women remarked that they felt relaxed and appreciated the low key atmosphere.

So, I feel like this retreat weekend was a little bud of hope that more in person get togethers will eventually happen in the not to distant future.

In the meantime, keep calm and craft on!

Come register for my next crafty escape: the Ladies Retreat Day!

It's a one day version of the weekend which will be held in Markham, Ontario on April 30th.
