stampin4fun: A sweet 16 birthday

Hello! Just wanted to share a card I made last week for my daughter.

She celebrated her 16th birthday last week.

How is it possible that she was once a little girl like this:

And now she's 16!!!

I guess being 16 means you don't let your parents take pictures of you on your birthday because you don't want your picture posted on the Stampin4fun blog!

I am grateful for her flexible attitude during this pandemic. She wasn't concerned about missing a sweet 16 party or anything. I offered to organize some kind of virtual game night with her friends but she was happy enough to request take out noodle soup and a dairy queen ice cream cake to enjoy with us..

Well, that's easy!

Her response to everything going on with the pandemic: online learning, less availability of high school courses, not being able to hang out with friends etc...

"I just go with the flow" is what she says.

I'm so glad that it doesn't seem like she's struggling with anxiety or depression during this strange time. I know the teenage years can be hard already but to add in a pandemic makes me worry about my 3 teenage children.

Anyway, I had to make her a special card right?

When I went to my stamp shelf I right away pulled out the Silhouette Scenes Stamp set.

I knew I wanted to do something with those words and images.

I glanced at some samples on Pinterest and was inspired by a card from Trisha Magnus.

I was able to create the moon effect simply by using a 2" circle punch. I punched out a circle and then punched that circle with the circle punch to create a crescent moon effect.

The cool background was done simply by laying a piece of the new Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper.
