Here's a new thing I tried this year...I joined our neighborhood community garden! I don't know anything about gardening! However, the community garden crew told me that I didn't need to know a lot about gardening to participate. I just had to pay a small membership fee and agree to volunteer time at the garden once a week. This sounded fun!
Here is experienced gardener Bala. He was so kind to share some interesting information with me on one of the weeks that I went to volunteer. I was very excited to learn from him about planting potatoes. Potatoes are one of my most favourite foods!
Here's some of the harvest I have been able to enjoy for the garden:

Volunteering at the garden has been very satisfying and I've met some lovely new friends!
I learned that the garden used to have a shed but it was destroyed in the storm earlier this season and the garden committee was looking for a way to raise some money for a new shed.
I offered to help organize a cardmaking fundraiser. Would you be able to support this fundraiser? Everyone at the garden would be grateful! Register HERE
Here's the details: Wed. Sept.
